You can take up any cosmetic treatment for the removal of fine lines and creases from the face. While most of them are quite effective but, none of them work when it comes to sensitive areas like the region around eyes or the mouth. Mesobotox, also known as microbotox, is one such specialised treatment, which works specifically on the eye area, around the mouth and the nasiolabial fold, or the area between your nose and the lips. Let’s understand what the procedure is and how it works.
In Mesobotox, a small amount of diluted botulinum toxin is injected in the skin. There are two major differences which make mesobotox more advanced than a traditional botox treatment. Firstly, in a mesobotox treatment, a microneedle is used and there’s just a small amount of botox, which is diluted. Secondly, while in a botox treatment, the botox is injected into the muscle layer, in mesobotox, it is injected into the skin just below the epidermis. This is what makes mesobotox more advanced and hence, it gives immediate results.
The procedure is minimally invasive in nature, as the toxin is injected into your skin. Before the start of the procedure, the dermatologist will clean your face with an antiseptic, and then apply some anaesthetic cream. Around 30 minutes after the cream is applied, the dermatologist will start with injecting the diluted botulinum. This is a quick treatment, and a session only lasts for around 30 minutes, and has no downtime. Apart from fine lines and wrinkles, it also helps reduce pore size, which in turn reduces oil production and sweating.
